An online marketplace for running, cycling, triathlon and other endurance events, with a London office, started by two Cambridge friends in 2016.
Let's Do This is a website and app where people can find and book races and other endurance events. It lists tens of thousands of events across the UK, the United States and Australia, from 5K and 10K runs to marathons, triathlons, cycling sportives and swims. Race organisers use it to reach new entrants and share event news. Its own description calls it the largest marketplace for endurance events in the world, which we have not checked. A 2022 article says it also offers fitness tracking, race history and free injury protection to users.
The company was launched in 2016 by two friends who met in childhood and later studied at the University of Cambridge: Sam Browne, now chief executive, and Alex Rose, now chief operating officer. The idea came from their work in the sports industry, where signing up for races was difficult. Their mission line, as given on the Welcome to the Jungle jobs site, is "to be the online company to take people offline". A 2022 article says it aims to lower barriers to fitness by helping people of any level discover new ways of keeping fit and build community.
The company is headquartered in San Francisco but has a London office at Orion House, 5 Upper St Martins Lane, in London's West End, listed on its Welcome to the Jungle profile. It is listed as a London marketplace in the Seedtable UK sportstech list, and it partners with UK races and events, for instance with Runna. The same profile says the team has between 21 and 100 employees, a figure that has fallen in the past year, so this is a mid-sized team.
On culture, the profile lists perks that include family leave, equipment, a learning and development budget and race entry, and notes that 24% of staff are women. We did not find a values page or a first-party culture statement. The company's brand revolves around an active community, with events and clubs, and the founders say they built it because they love sport themselves.
The jobs at a marketplace like this include software engineers and data specialists, product managers and designers, customer support and onboarding staff who help race organisers, sales and partnership staff who sign up events, sponsorship and marketing teams, and operations and finance teams. If you love sport and like the idea of using technology to get more people to take part, it is a good example of how a sports business can use the internet. Look at the company's website for the roles it has now.
