About Ligentia

Ligentia is a supply chain management company. In plain terms it helps businesses get products from the factories where they are made to the shops and customers who buy them, often across several countries. Its services include ocean, air, road and rail freight, customs clearance, contract logistics (running warehouses for customers), e-commerce logistics, project logistics and ocean freight consolidation, which means combining small loads into full containers. It also builds its own technology, including a customer platform called Ligentix, to give clients data on where their goods are and how to improve the journey.

The company states its vision as being "recognised as the world leader in supply chain data, technology, and systems", and it says it wants to help eliminate waste from the global supply chain. Its shared goal is "finding a better way for customers". It lists five values: customer obsessed, results driven, entrepreneurial, one team one company, and seriously responsible, which it links to sustainability. A 2022 report said Ligentia agreed to combine with VGL Solid Group, a Polish freight and logistics provider, to form Ligentia Group, with more than 1,300 people. Earlier, the Sunday Times International Track 200 ranked Ligentia 121st in 2020, in a list of fast-growing UK firms selling abroad.

Ligentia's main UK base is in Leeds, Yorkshire, according to the 2022 report. Its UK pages show work for well-known British businesses, including Hobbycraft, White Stuff, The Works, itsu, Ideal Standard and the healthcare start-up MedFlow. The pages we could read did not list individual UK office addresses, only a link to a global offices page, so we cannot say how many UK sites it has. Its other colleagues work across Asia, Australia, Europe and the United States.

In terms of people and culture, the company describes itself as tenacious, passionate and innovative, with the line "going above and beyond, it's in our nature". It says more than 1,300 colleagues work across the group. In June 2024 it was accredited as Great Place to Work Certified, a result it says is based on anonymous staff feedback. These are the company's own statements and an outside certification, not something we have checked ourselves. One sign of the culture is the range of customers: a furniture supplier opening in the UK, an online fashion retailer, a food chain and a healthcare start-up.

Because the business spans freight, customs, warehousing and software, the roles are varied. There are freight and customer service teams who plan shipments and solve delays, customs specialists who handle the paperwork for goods crossing borders, warehouse and operations staff, data analysts and software developers who work on the technology platform, and the usual sales, finance and people teams. If you enjoy geography, problem solving, languages or technology, supply chain work like this shows you how the things in every shop get there.
