Liz Earle Beauty Co.

A British skincare brand started on the Isle of Wight in 1995, best known for its Cleanse & Polish hot cloth cleanser, now part of the Boots group.

About Liz Earle Beauty Co.

Liz Earle Beauty Co. makes botanical skincare and body products. Its best-known product is Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser, a two-phase cleanser made with cocoa butter, rosemary, chamomile and eucalyptus that is used with a cotton cloth. A trade press release from No7 Beauty Company says the cleanser had won its 140th award. The brand's classic routine has three steps: cleanse, tone with Instant Boost Skin Tonic, and moisturise with its Skin Repair ranges, which contain British borage oil, avocado oil, echinacea and vitamin E.

Liz Earle and her friend Kim Buckland founded the business in 1995 on the Isle of Wight. It began as Liz Earle Naturally Active Skincare and later became the Liz Earle Beauty Co. Companies House records show Liz Earle Beauty Co. Limited was incorporated on 20 June 1995 with a registered office at The Green House, Nicholson Road, Ryde, Isle of Wight, and an active status. Wikipedia says Avon bought the company in 2010 and Walgreens Boots Alliance bought it in 2015. Liz Earle stayed as a global ambassador until 2017. The brand's own page says the co-founders no longer work with the company but that it still follows their original principles.

The brand's mission, on its Boots page, is to create products that deliver visible results for women of all ages and skin types. The page says the company puts love into every product, ingredient and experience, uses naturally active ingredients and cruelty-free practices, and works directly with growers and farmers to monitor environmental impact, community wellbeing and fair working conditions. It also describes the brand as one of the first to put botanicals at the centre of its products.

The UK link is clear: the company's story begins on the Isle of Wight and the registered office is in Ryde, so island-based roles are plausible. We did not find a page describing the current team, staff numbers or day-to-day culture, and we did not find whether there are other UK offices today. The brand is now sold through retailers including Boots, so Liz Earle's work with large retail partners will shape many of its jobs.

In a skincare brand of this kind there are product developers and chemists, packaging and quality specialists, brand and digital marketing staff, sales and key-account managers who deal with retailers, customer care, supply-chain and finance teams. If you like plants, science or retail, those are good areas to explore. Check the Liz Earle website and the Boots group's recruitment pages for current roles.
