About Mammoth Screen

Mammoth Screen is a British television production company that makes drama. Its shows include Bonekickers, Endeavour, Poldark, Victoria, World on Fire, The Serpent, McDonald & Dodds and The Tower, according to Wikipedia. It produces for major UK broadcasters, especially ITV, and many programmes are co-productions with partners such as PBS Masterpiece, the BBC and streamers like Prime Video and Netflix, which helps them reach audiences in other countries.

Michele Buck and Damien Timmer, both former executives in drama at ITV Productions, founded Mammoth Screen in 2007 and have been joint managing directors. In a 2012 interview Buck said that international co-productions let producers share risk and afford more ambitious budgets, and she advised choosing partners carefully, saying "Honesty is best". She also described a growing gap between local drama and international drama. ITV announced in June 2015 that it was acquiring Mammoth Screen, and it is now part of ITV Studios. We did not find a formal mission or values statement.

Wikipedia and the C21 interview describe Mammoth Screen as a UK company, but neither names an office address or town, so we cannot say where its UK base is from the sources we read. Its programmes are filmed at locations around Britain and abroad, but filming locations are not company offices, so we have not treated them as bases. The company's own website would show its address and any regional teams.

The 2012 interview shows a company that likes to work with strong writers, such as Tom Stoppard on Parade's End, and with established partners. Buck described the partnership process as demanding, with partners needing to be well matched and producers needing to deliver what co-producers want. These are the company's own views, from one older interview, and we found no staff-written account of working there.

A drama producer employs executive producers and producers, development executives who find and shape scripts, script editors, production managers and coordinators, finance and business affairs staff, and assistants, plus the crews hired on each series. Interests in reading, writing, history, television or business can all lead here. The company's own website, or ITV Studios, is the place to check current openings.
