Markerstudy Group

A UK insurance services group behind brands such as Swinton, Carole Nash, Lancaster and Auto Windscreens, with more than 4,500 UK staff.

About Markerstudy Group

Markerstudy Group is a UK insurance services provider established in 2001. It is organised into Markerstudy Retail, which covers personal lines such as car, motorcycle, home, lifestyle and pet insurance; Markerstudy Business, which covers commercial lines such as motor trade, taxi, non-standard van and employer's liability; and Group Services, which includes Auto Windscreens and the vehicle technology businesses VisionTrack and Vision Vehicle Solutions.

The group's stated vision is to be the most trusted general insurance services provider, with value-driven products and solutions. Its brands page lists names such as Swinton Insurance, Carole Nash, Lancaster Insurance, Budget Insurance, Marmalade, Dial Direct, Purely Pets, Clegg Gifford (a London broker that gives non-Lloyd's brokers access to the Lloyd's market) and Tradex Insurance, and it says it protects over five million customers.

Markerstudy says it has more than 4,500 UK employees. Its registered office is in Bessels Green, Sevenoaks, Kent. The pages we read did not list its other office towns, so the exact places where teams work are a gap, but its brands are well known on UK high streets and online, so there are likely teams in several regions. Leadership named in its news items includes Group Chief Executive Kevin Spencer, Emma Rawlinson (Markerstudy Retail) and Ross Barrington (Markerstudy Business), and Richard Lilwall runs VisionTrack. Laura Walker has been named Group Chief Operating Officer, subject to regulatory approval. The group is marking its 25th year.

On culture, Markerstudy says it is an Investors in People Gold employer and that it won 17 awards in 2022 across technology, contact centres, apprenticeships, health and safety, risk management and the internet of things. It says colleagues take part in volunteering, for example a tree-planting day with the Green Legacy Project in Kent, and that it holds an EcoVadis Gold sustainability rating for 2026. These are the company's own claims.

The mix of businesses means a wide range of roles. There are contact centre and customer service teams, claims handlers, underwriters and pricing analysts, broker support, marketing and digital teams, technology and telematics specialists, and engineers and fitters linked to the windscreen and vehicle technology businesses. This is a useful company to look at if you want to see how insurance connects with motoring, technology and customer service.
