A London-headquartered communications group that grew out of a 1995 advertising agency and now covers advertising, media, consulting and behaviour change.
M&C Saatchi Group is a communications company with its headquarters in London. It began as an advertising agency and now describes itself as a creative solutions company with five specialisms: Advertising, Issues, Passions, Consulting and Media. Its "Cultural Power" idea, developed with the Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford, is about helping brands use the forces that shape culture to create demand. It also describes itself as expert in behaviour change, which is the science of why people choose to do things. Its group homepage lists demand creation using data analytics, brand strategy and innovation, multi-channel creative communications (advertising, sponsorship, brand reputation, personalisation and brand experience), talent management, influencer marketing and performance media, with work for both government and commercial clients.
We did not find a formal mission statement. On its history page the company says it set out "to change the world", that "entrepreneurialism is in our DNA" and that "every business in our network is driven to make change". Press coverage reports a mantra introduced in 2021: "We Navigate, Create and Lead Meaningful Change". Treat these as the company's own wording.
M&C Saatchi was formed in 1995 by Maurice Saatchi, Charles Saatchi, Jeremy Sinclair, Bill Muirhead and David Kershaw. It started in what it calls "a modest office above a London real estate agent" and is still headquartered in London, where its shares are listed on the AIM market. Well-known UK work includes the Public Health England campaigns Change4Life and Be Clear on Cancer, sponsorship work for Heineken, O2 ("Wear the Rose") and Barclays, and the BAFTA-winning TV show A League of Their Own. We did not find a London street address on the pages we read.
The company says each business in its network is its own legal entity, run by leaders who hold a stake in it. That is the root of its claim to an entrepreneurial culture. Its own page talks about "highly talented and creative people" who offer strategic and AI-driven solutions. A company profile reports roughly 2,000 employees across the group worldwide, so only part of that is in the UK. The group's executive chair, Dame Heather Rabbatts, says in the company's own words: "Our unique market position lies in our deep understanding of our clients' business."
The jobs inside a group like this match its specialisms. Its own list covers digital and performance media, branding, technology and design, strategy, behavioural change and consumer insights, as well as the creative teams who write and design the ads. If you like psychology, data, writing, design or planning how people see the world, there is a place for you in more than one team.
