The UK arm of global healthcare technology company Medtronic, with field-based teams across the UK and a 12-month NextGen Academy for graduates.
Medtronic is a global medical technology company. In the UK its people work in roles such as technical consultants, who support doctors and clinical teams using its devices, as well as marketing, training and other business roles.
Medtronic's mission, as quoted in its UK graduate listing, is to "alleviate pain, restore health, and extend life." Its UK early careers page also talks about "helping champion healthcare access and equity for all." These are the company's own words.
The UK early careers page does not list sites. Graduate listings we found are based in Edinburgh and Glasgow (field-based), Southampton and London, and a related-jobs list on one listing also names Durham, Cambridge, Faversham, Newmarket, Bristol, Croydon and Newcastle upon Tyne. Many roles are therefore out in the field rather than at one head office.
Medtronic describes itself as having over 95,000 employees worldwide and says it recognises people's contributions. A student intern quoted on its page says "The culture at Medtronic is very inclusive." That is one person's view chosen by the company, so ask current staff what it is really like.
The main route is the NextGen Academy, a 12-month post-graduate programme that builds towards a Technical Consultant role. One 2026 listing asked for students in biomedical engineering, cardiac physiology or a related field, graduating in 2026, with a driving licence, UK right to work and willingness to travel. It offered £34,000 a year, a 1 September 2026 start and closed on 8 May 2026. The page also mentions internships and recent-graduate roles but gives no details, and apprenticeships are not mentioned (evidence as at 2026).
