A UK accountancy and advisory firm with graduate and apprenticeship programmes in audit, tax and risk, with roles in London, Crawley, Manchester and Cardiff.
Menzies is a UK firm of accountants and business advisers that works with individuals, mid-size and large privately owned companies, and not-for-profit organisations. Put simply, its people check company accounts (audit), advise on tax, help owners buy, sell or fix businesses, and look after the day-to-day finances of clients. Its early careers listings cover audit, tax (including ATT/CTA, the specialist tax exams, and transfer pricing, which is about how companies in different countries price dealings with each other) and risk assurance.
Menzies says it was founded in 1912. Its own website describes it as headquartered in London, with more than 1,000 advisers across 11 UK locations; older Menzies and Accountancy Today material shows offices in Cardiff, Farnborough, Heathrow, Leatherhead, central London, the Solent and Woking, and a managing partner, Julie Adams, based in Woking. Accountancy Today also records mergers with Wagstaffs in Hertfordshire (2023) and Butler and Co in London (2023). Headcount figures differ between pages, so treat them as approximate; the firm's own current page gives the over 1,000 figure.
Menzies says it wants to be "recognised as the leading firm of advisers and accountants to individuals and businesses". Its four values are Inspire, Innovate, Collaborate and Empathise. Its website describes a relationship-led approach it calls "Brighter Thinking" and says the firm has become a Certified B Corp, meaning it has been independently assessed on how it treats people, communities and the environment. It also links to a charitable foundation. A 2023 apprenticeship leaflet set targets to cut emissions by 50% over three years and reach net carbon zero by 2027. These are the firm's own statements.
Menzies is a member of the HLB International network, which gives clients help abroad; a transfer pricing role works with HLB colleagues. Services include audit and compliance, tax, corporate finance, business recovery, outsourced finance and HR support, and business valuations. It lists sector teams in areas such as healthcare, hospitality and leisure, manufacturing, property and construction, retail, transport and technology.
For young people, Menzies runs graduate and apprenticeship routes. A 2023 Apprenticeship Week leaflet described earn-while-you-learn apprenticeships in tax, accounts, audit, outsourced accounting and business recovery, with an August start, across Leatherhead, Heathrow (Egham), Woking, Farnborough, the Solent, London and Cardiff. It also runs ACA, ACCA, AAT and ATT/CTA routes. Summer internship and placement listings have appeared, including Woking in 2026. Menzies says JobCrowd.com has named it one of the best graduate and apprenticeship employers for five years, and a 2027 graduate listing mentions agile working, 23.5 days' holiday plus bank holidays, a mentor and training manager, a CSR programme and a 24/7 employee assistance line. Those are the firm's own claims. One graduate apprenticeship listing quoted a salary of £32,000 with rolling applications, but pay varies by role so check the current listing.
