A UK app for saving, investing, buying a first home and combining old pensions. Based in London and authorised by the FCA.
Moneybox is a UK app that helps people save and invest, all in one place. You can hold a cash ISA (a savings account where the interest is tax-free), a stocks and shares ISA (where your money is invested and gains are tax-free), a Lifetime ISA for a first home, a personal pension, a Junior ISA, a general investment account and various savings accounts. It also has a business savings product. One feature the press has picked out is round-ups, which move your spare change up to the nearest £1 into savings, and accounts can be opened from just £1.
A City AM profile says Moneybox was co-founded by Ben Stanway and Charlie Mortimer and launched in 2016. Stanway is a former analyst who also co-founded the flower-delivery company Bloom & Wild in 2013. The company is based in London: its careers page gives the office as Cargoworks, 1 to 2 Hatfields, on the South Bank. Digital Moneybox Limited is authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority for payment services and is registered in England and Wales.
Moneybox does not publish a short mission line on the pages we could read, but Stanway told City AM his approach is to "make everything really easy to understand", and the company wants young professionals to save a little and often. Moneybox describes itself as the simple way to save, invest, buy a first home and combine old pensions in one app. Its Head of People has said it looks for "people who genuinely care about our mission".
The main products are the Stocks and Shares ISA, the Lifetime ISA, pensions (including a tool for merging old pension pots), savings accounts and a general investment account. Investors can choose a risk level of cautious, balanced or adventurous. The company also has an advice team of financial advisers and coaches, and its support site carries behind-the-scenes staff stories and its news and annual results.
Moneybox's careers page lists four values, which it calls ALOT: Action ("we deliver our best work and own it"), Learning, Open-minded and Team. It says social events are run by a Culture Committee, and it cites recognition as a Financial Times Best Employer in 2025, which is the company's own claim. Teams hiring at the time we read the page included Advice, Customer Operations and Support, Data and Insight, AI Platforms, Back End Engineering, Marketing, Finance and Product. Hiring has five stages: phone, task, technical and team interviews, values and final interviews, then an offer. Benefits listed include 33 days' holiday including public holidays, a £450 yearly learning budget, private medical insurance and pension matching. In a Finextra interview its Head of People said working arrangements range from two office days a week to fully remote, and that junior finance staff are supported towards accountancy qualifications. The careers page itself does not list graduate, internship or apprenticeship schemes, so check for current openings.
