One of the UK's largest dental providers, with over 500 NHS and private practices and apprenticeship routes for dental nurses.
mydentist provides NHS and private dental care, including general dentistry, orthodontics and cosmetic treatments such as whitening. It is inspected by the Care Quality Commission in England and by Healthcare Inspectorate Wales.
Its careers page uses the slogan "helping the nation smile" and talks about patient care and investing in its people. Its About page says it wants to help the nation improve oral health, with an emphasis on prevention. We did not find a longer values statement.
mydentist reports over 500 UK practices (over 530 on its careers page), with many open evenings and weekends, and over 3.8 million patients. Its registered office is in Manchester. The practices are spread across the UK, so jobs can be near where you live.
mydentist says patients would recommend it (over 92%). Its careers page describes flexible working hours. These are the company's own claims. Many practices have a small team of dentists, nurses and reception staff, so you can learn from several roles.
You can join as a qualified dental nurse, as a student dental nurse through its in-house accredited programme, or as a trainee on a dental nurse apprenticeship. One 2026 Bristol advert was for a Level 3 Dental Nurse Apprenticeship at £17,056 a year with training by Tempdent, covering reception work, sterilising equipment and helping dentists with patients. It listed no GCSE requirement. Dentist foundation training was not mentioned on the page we read.
