Naked Energy

A Sussex company that makes solar panels that produce heat, and in some versions electricity, for buildings.

About Naked Energy

Naked Energy makes solar-thermal systems called Virtu that turn sunlight into heat where it is used, so buildings burn less gas. A version called VirtuPVT also makes electricity from the same roof. Its systems have been used at sites including the British Library and Wimbledon.

Founder and chief executive Christophe Williams said in August 2026 that "Heat is too often overlooked in the energy debate". The company aims to scale renewable heat for hospitals, hotels, public buildings and industry in the UK and abroad, creating skilled jobs. Another profile describes its focus as decarbonising heat and power in buildings.

Naked Energy is headquartered in Crawley, England. In August 2026 Great British Energy and Barclays Climate Ventures backed plans for a new UK factory, expected to create up to 40 direct jobs. The factory location had not been confirmed. The company was founded in 2009 and works internationally.

A profile site lists 28 employees (undated) and says the team is united by a commitment to tackling the climate emergency and values collaboration (company claims).

We found no graduate scheme, apprenticeship or open vacancies; the profile page showed none. The planned factory may bring manufacturing roles, so keep an eye on its website.
