Napo Pet Insurance

A Chelsea-based pet insurance company that wants to build the pet ecosystem people turn to first for protection, prevention and support.

About Napo Pet Insurance

Napo Pet Insurance is a UK pet insurer based in Chelsea, London. It offers lifetime pet cover, rated a Which? Best Buy for 2025 according to a partner press release, and it won Insurer of the Year at the Modern Claims Awards in 2025 for the second year running. We did not read its own website, so product details come from third-party profiles and partner news rather than from the firm directly.

Its stated aim is to build the pet ecosystem people turn to first for protection, prevention and ongoing support throughout a pet's life. It describes itself as "fast, fair and human". A company profile puts it more simply: helping pet owners have what they need so their pets can live long, healthy and happy lives.

The office is at 2 Jubilee Place, London SW3 3TQ, and staff are asked to come in about two days a week, with remote-friendly working otherwise. A job-site profile puts the team at between 21 and 100 people and says headcount grew by 92% over the previous year. The company's profile shows a Trustpilot rating of 4.5, which is a public review score rather than a company claim.

Napo has partnered with Tractive, a maker of pet GPS trackers: eligible new customers receive a free tracker with their policy, and both companies are exploring deeper links for prevention and safety, built on customer consent and privacy safeguards. The company is led by chief executive Jean-Philippe Doumeng, who previously worked at Tictrac and Babylon Health, and chief product officer Ludovic Lacay, whose background includes Tictrac and Facebook. The profile says 62% of employees are women and lists perks such as 25 days of holiday plus a birthday off, a training budget, private health insurance, company-funded therapy and pet insurance for employees' own pets. These come from a job site, so treat them as claims to check.

Job listings on that site include a head of marketing and a web engineer, which shows the mix of marketing, technology, customer and claims work in a small insurer. We did not find the founders' names or a longer statement of company values. For a student, pet insurance is a good example of insurance that people feel emotionally attached to: customers are often worried about an animal they love, so clear, kind communication matters as much as the policy wording. That is why the "fast, fair and human" description is worth testing at interview.
