Scotland's NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde health board, which runs a modern apprenticeship programme for people aged 16 to 24.
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is a Scottish NHS health board that provides health services in the Glasgow and Clyde area. It employs people in clinical and non-clinical jobs across many sites.
It says it aims to build a skilled workforce that reflects the population it serves. We did not find a longer mission statement on the page we read.
It is based in the Glasgow area of Scotland. Its apprenticeship page is aimed at people living in Scotland.
It says apprentices are NHS employees on at least the Scottish Living Wage, with 27 days' paid annual leave, 8 public holidays and the NHS Pension Scheme. These are the board's own statements.
Apprenticeships are open to people aged 16 to 24, and up to 29 for those with a disability or who are care experienced. There are 12 frameworks, including business administration, healthcare support, pharmacy, dental nursing, life sciences, accountancy and several trades. Since 2013 more than 200 apprentices have joined, and most successful apprentices are supported into permanent roles. Advertising for 2026 vacancies begins in March 2026, on NHS Scotland Jobs and Apprenticeships.scot.
