Nobody's Child

A London womenswear brand known for affordable dresses in responsible fabrics, with a Carnaby Street store and a presence in Marks and Spencer.

About Nobody's Child

Nobody's Child is a London womenswear brand. It is best known for printed dresses, which its chief executive Jody Plows calls the hero product, and has grown into a wider lifestyle brand with separates, tailoring, swimwear, denim, bridal and sleepwear ranges. It began as a direct-to-consumer online business and now also sells through shops, with its own boutiques and more than 300 partner stores worldwide according to its B Corp profile.

The brand's focus is stylish, affordable fashion made in more responsible ways. A profile of founder Andrew Xeni says he saw a gap for ethically produced fashion that stayed affordable. In 2023 the company said over 95 per cent of its spring and summer products used lower-impact, organic or recycled fabrics, including Tencel, Lenzing Ecovero and organic cotton. It has trialled a clothes repair station with Sojo and a pre-loved takeback programme. It became a B Corp in November 2025, with a profile that stresses fair supply chains, circular models and responsible materials.

Nobody's Child was founded in London in 2015 by Andrew Xeni, who had helped run a family manufacturing business that supplied the UK high street. Its B Corp profile gives a headquarters in the London Borough of Islington, and its flagship store is on Carnaby Street. It has run pop-up shops inside 30 Marks and Spencer stores, and Marks and Spencer invested in 2021 and is a shareholder. The brand planned wholesale launches in Europe, the US and Australia, and later in the Middle East, and has worked with Fearne Cotton's Happy Place collection and the rental company Hirestreet.

Jody Plows is chief executive. Day-to-day culture is not described in the sources we read, so check the company's own claims on its website. The brand says its dresses have a real woman's fit, and its growth came from viral midi dresses and influencer marketing around 2019. The B Corp scores suggest particular strength on environment and workers, though the assessment is the company's own submission checked by B Lab.

A fashion retailer with stores and online sales employs designers, buyers, merchandisers, fabric and sourcing specialists, marketing and content teams, store staff, e-commerce and customer service teams, and finance and operations people.
