Great Britain's energy regulator, a government body with offices in London, Glasgow and Cardiff and a graduate development programme.
Ofgem is the government regulator for gas and electricity markets in Great Britain. It makes rules for the energy industry, checks that companies follow them and works on protecting customers and supporting the move to cleaner energy.
Ofgem says it works to "protect consumers now and in the future" by delivering a greener, fairer energy system. Its graduate material says roles offer the chance to make "a lasting impact on the UK energy landscape."
Its offices are in Canary Wharf (London), Glasgow's Merchant City and Cardiff. Graduate jobs have been advertised across all three.
Ofgem highlights a learning and development team, professional and social groups, Civil Service discounts and a pension. These are its own claims. We did not find independent culture information.
The Graduate Development Programme (the 2024 version we could read) had four placements of usually six months each in different parts of the organisation, paid £29,500 to £32,500, and asked for at least a 2:2, with degree subjects such as economics, engineering, business, finance, geography, sciences, public policy and sustainability. The 2024 deadline was 8 April 2024. Ofgem also ran a separate digital graduate programme. Current vacancies are posted on the Civil Service Jobs website. Pay and requirements may differ now, so check the current advert. We did not find apprenticeship details.
