An Oxford company whose AI helps doctors decide which lung nodules on a scan are most likely to be cancer.
Optellum develops AI tools for lung cancer diagnosis. Its Lung Cancer Prediction AI helps clinicians find and prioritise high-risk lung nodules, and its Virtual Nodule Clinic supports the follow-up process. It is also building LungOS, an AI platform for chest care. A June 2026 release says it is used at more than 250 clinical sites.
Chief executive Dr Johnathan Watkins said the company wants "ensuring early diagnosis and early intervention become the standard for everyone everywhere".
Optellum is headquartered in Oxford, UK, with an office in Houston, Texas. The June 2026 release shows it is still trading.
We did not find a description of the culture, values or headcount, and the only person named was the chief executive.
The release lists no vacancies and we found no graduate scheme, internship or apprenticeship. Check Optellum's own careers page; AI, software, imaging and clinical skills all matter in this kind of company.
