Oxford Biomedica (OXB)

An Oxford-based gene and cell therapy company that develops and manufactures gene-based medicines, with a strong record on apprenticeships.

About Oxford Biomedica (OXB)

Oxford Biomedica (OXB) is a gene and cell therapy company. It develops and manufactures gene-based medicines, which treat illness by delivering working genes into the body. It was also reported as the UK manufacturer of the AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine.

Its stated mission is to deliver "life changing gene therapies to patients". Its early careers page says the company is "passionate about developing the talent of the future". No separate list of values was found on the pages we read.

It is based in Oxford, UK. A regional article (Oxfordshire LEP, 2022) and its Oxford-based careers pages show Oxfordshire roles, but we did not find individual site addresses.

The company describes a dedicated and passionate team. Its Head of Talent Acquisition says early careers talent "adds diversity of thinking for our organisation". It also says it takes part in STEM outreach, as its own claim.

Its early careers page lists work experience for A-level students, industrial placements, entry-level full-time jobs for school and college leavers and graduates, and apprenticeships described as its flagship programme. The 2022 Oxfordshire LEP article said OXB had 31 apprentices, roles from lab technician to plant engineer, and won a 2022 Oxfordshire apprenticeship employer award. The early careers page showed no open positions when we checked, so look for new vacancies on the OXB careers site.
