About Pace

Pace is a UK management consultancy, registered as Pace-XL Ltd. It helps organisations, mainly in the public sector and large infrastructure, improve how they run and upgrade their IT systems. Its member listing with the trade body ADS describes help to reverse falling profits, improve efficiency, make better use of people, systems and data, manage change and find growth. A Consultancy.uk article reports that one government project cut about £5 million a year from a department's IT bill.

Pace was founded in 2020 by Tim Bretman, a former Royal Marine and serial entrepreneur (Consultancy.uk). Luke Grose was promoted to Chief Executive, and Bretman now focuses on acquisitions, buying other firms to add to the group. Joe Barrs is Chief Consulting Officer. A press release is datelined London, and the ADS listing gives an address at Wenlock Road, London.

We did not find a formal mission statement or list of values. A press release describes a focus on delivering value to customers, and the ADS listing says Pace promotes giving workforces more say over their decisions and work.

Pace says it specialises in legal, central government and national infrastructure work. Its listed services include transformation delivery, data and AI readiness, and process optimisation and automation. It holds ISO 9001 (a quality management standard) and Cyber Essentials Plus (a UK government-backed security certification). No client names are published on the pages we read.

Pace has grown quickly. It led the 2025 Sunday Times list of fastest-growing consulting firms and was ranked on the Financial Times FT1000 list of Europe's fastest-growing companies in 2025. The firm's own website describes direct access to experts without intermediaries. We did not find culture details, headcount, graduate schemes, internships or entry requirements, so check Pace's own site or ask the firm directly.
