Paddle

A payments and sales-tax company for software businesses. Paddle advertises roles in the UK and is registered as Paddle.com Market Ltd.

About Paddle

Paddle is a company that handles payments, subscriptions and sales tax for software and online businesses. If a software company sells to customers around the world, it has to deal with different currencies, taxes and rules in each country. Paddle takes that on, so the software company can focus on building its product. Paddle says it has more than 6,000 customers worldwide.

Paddle was founded in 2012 by Christian Owens and Harrison Rose. Its own site says it exists "to stop anyone else from having to experience that", which refers to the founders' painful early experience of selling software online. Its footer names the legal entity as Paddle.com Market Ltd. The pages we read did not state its headquarters, so we have not stated one. Its careers page lists roles in the UK, Portugal, Ireland, the Netherlands, Canada and the US, including one in London and several marked "UK".

Paddle works "digital first" with "hubs" for people to meet in person. Its benefits include private healthcare, a learning budget and generous family leave.

For young people, Paddle is a small tech business serving other tech businesses. We did not find an early-careers programme, so check its careers page.
