Panasonic UK and Ireland supplies a wide range of products. Its consumer side covers televisions, cameras and camcorders, home entertainment, home appliances, personal care, professional kitchen equipment, home phones, and heating and cooling. Its business side covers mobile computer solutions, entertainment solutions, smart factory solutions, professional heating and cooling, components and devices, energy and building solutions, supply chain solutions and automotive solutions. It also supports heat pump and air conditioning products in the UK through its Heating and Cooling division.
Panasonic's global group traces its philosophy to Konosuke Matsushita, who founded the business in 1918 and set out his management objective in 1929. The group updated its Basic Business Philosophy in October 2021, the first major revision in about 60 years. Its stated aim is to 'devote ourselves to the progress and development of society and the well-being of people through our business activities'. The seven principles include contribution to society, fairness and honesty, cooperation and team spirit, untiring effort for improvement, courtesy and humility, adaptability and gratitude. These are the group's words, not a UK-specific statement.
Panasonic UK was founded in 1972 and says it has more than 400 staff, with its UK headquarters at Maxis 2, Western Road, Bracknell, Berkshire RG12 1RT, and a head office for Ireland in Dublin. The UK business now operates as a branch of Panasonic Marketing Europe GmbH, a German company; the older company Panasonic U.K. Limited was dissolved in March 2023. A separate company, Panasonic Manufacturing U.K. Ltd, remains registered in Pentwyn, Cardiff, with a business category of consumer electronics manufacture, but we did not find what it makes today.
Across Europe and the CIS region the group operates in more than 35 countries with over 11,000 people. Panasonic's European operations began in 1962 with a sales office in Hamburg, and Panasonic Europe was formed in 1997 in Amsterdam. The student platform Magnet.me quotes the group as wanting to 'create a better life and a better world for its customers'. We did not find a UK culture page, so ask current staff what values the UK team stresses.
With this many divisions, UK jobs include sales and account management for retailers and for business customers, product and marketing teams, technical support and installation for heating and cooling, supply chain and logistics, and engineers working with factory and automotive clients. A student with interests in energy, appliances, technology or business has plenty to explore. Look at Panasonic's UK site for current openings and check which division you would join.
