Pearson

A learning company that makes courses, qualifications and assessments, and runs early-talent apprenticeships and internships in the UK.

About Pearson

Pearson is a learning company. It is behind qualifications, assessments and teaching materials used by schools, colleges and universities, and it also offers its own learning programmes.

We did not find a formal mission statement on the pages we read. In its early-talent writing, Pearson says it wants to create opportunities and support people's personal and professional growth, and to build a more diverse workforce with future-ready skills.

Pearson has UK offices in London, Oxford, Manchester and Hellaby, where staff met to watch its early-talent awards event. A 2017 article also names Harlow, Essex as an apprenticeship location. We did not find a current headcount.

Pearson describes its early-talent programmes as covering apprenticeships (including degree apprenticeships), internships and T-level placements, with work and study combined in areas such as marketing and IT. Its Head of Early Talent says bringing in a diverse workforce matters to the company.

For young people, a 2017 article described a three-year BA (Hons) Business Management degree apprenticeship in London or Harlow, working Monday to Thursday and studying on Friday, with tuition paid, for people aged 18 or over, at £18,000 to £21,000 a year. That round was closed and is old, so treat the details as out of date and check Pearson's careers site for current schemes.
