The London arm of global investment firm Permira, with offices on Pall Mall; we found no UK early-careers route, so check its careers page.
Permira is a global investment firm that backs businesses with growth ambitions. It runs private equity funds that invest in technology, consumer, healthcare and services companies, and a separate credit business that lends to companies. Its people work as deal teams, credit analysts, and in finance, operations and recruiting roles.
Permira's values page lists three values: Partnership ("Together we are greater than the sum of our parts"), Integrity ("Honesty and fairness are at the heart of everything we do") and Creativity. It has no formal mission statement. The closest wording on its site is that it aims to "drive long-term value creation, accelerate growth at scale and unlock technology-led transformation globally".
Permira says it has more than 500 people in 15 offices across Europe, the US, Asia and the Middle East. Staff profiles give London addresses: Permira Advisers LLP at 80 Pall Mall, SW1Y 5ES, and Permira Credit Limited at 100 Pall Mall, SW1Y 5NQ. Some of its current job postings are in Madrid and Luxembourg, not London.
The firm describes its own culture as collaborative and entrepreneurial, with a flat structure and open conversation across teams and offices. These are Permira's own words, so ask people who work there what it is like day to day. Its staff profiles show many people arriving after a few years in banking, for example at J.P. Morgan or Lloyds, rather than straight from university.
We searched hard for a UK internship, graduate or analyst route and did not find one. The only trainee role we saw was a 12-month Portfolio Reporting and Valuations traineeship based in Madrid, which is not in the UK. Permira's own pages on culture and life at the firm do not mention interns or graduates. This does not prove there is no route, so check the careers page at permira.com for current openings and ask your careers service.
