About PriestmanGoode

PriestmanGoode is a design studio in London. It designs products, services and environments for transport, public spaces and everyday life. Its own site lists services such as strategy and innovation, branding and graphics, industrial design, transport design, interior and spatial design, digital and customer experience, colour, material and finish (the choice of textures and colours for products), and computer-generated imagery. Sectors include aviation, rail and transport, public and interior spaces, and consumer products. Recent concepts mentioned in the press include Air 4 All, an airline seat idea that lets passengers stay in their own wheelchairs, and a concept for an autonomous London taxi.

Paul Priestman and Nigel Goode founded the studio in 1989. The studio's own wording is that it has spent more than thirty years designing things used by millions of people, aiming to "make things simpler, more intuitive, more sustainable and better for the people who use them". Its stated values are inclusivity, vision, pragmatism, sustainability and collaboration. Paul Priestman left in 2022 to start a new venture, and Nigel Goode became chair. Kirsty Dias is managing director, and Dezeen reported that the studio would keep its direction.

The studio is in London. An Office Snapshots article from October 2024 places its 6,500 square foot studio in Farringdon and describes a colour-coded fit-out with a meeting suite, a virtual-reality room and a custom area for colour, material and finish work. It also lists the studio as taking part in London events such as the London Design Festival and the New Designers show. We found no other UK office in the pages we read.

The company is unusually owned by its staff. It began moving to employee ownership in 2016 and, in its own words, became 100% employee-owned in 2024, giving everyone "a real stake in the studio's success". On 28 July 2026 it announced that it had won a Culture 100 award for being one of the UK's best companies to work for, after a review of more than 5,000 companies and a survey of more than 20,000 employees. It mentions a staff scheme called MyTime and funded clubs. These are the studio's own claims, though the award is a third-party recognition.

A studio like this employs industrial designers, transport and interior designers, graphic and brand designers, digital designers, strategists, trend forecasters, model makers and visualisation artists, plus managers and operations staff. The studio is ISO 9001 certified, which is a quality-management standard. If you like design that has to work for thousands of people at once, such as seats, carriages or signs, this is a good example. Its website lists current openings.
