A London gene therapy company developing treatments for kidney disease, based on research from the University of Bristol.
Purespring Therapeutics develops gene therapies for kidney disease. Its approach uses a harmless virus to deliver working gene copies to podocytes, the filtering cells in the kidney. Its first programme, PS-002, is for IgA nephropathy.
The company says its mission is to stop or prevent kidney disease, which it calls "one of humankind's most poorly treated disease areas". Its chief executive has said the platform could "stop, reverse and even cure kidney disease" (company's own words, 2024).
Purespring is described as a London-based biotech and was founded on work by Professor Moin Saleem of the University of Bristol. We did not find UK office addresses or headcount in the pages we read.
We did not find any detail on culture. Leadership includes chief executive Julian Hanak (as at 2024).
We found no early-careers programmes. As a gene therapy company moving towards clinical trials, expect roles in lab science, manufacturing and clinical operations, and check its careers page directly.
