Reapit

A London-headquartered software company, founded in 1997, whose platform runs sales, lettings and property management for estate agencies in the UK and abroad.

About Reapit

Reapit makes the software that estate agents use every day. Its platform combines a sales CRM (a system for managing buyers and sellers), a lettings CRM, bookings, property management, client accounts, a mobile app and a marketplace of add-on apps from other companies. It also offers Reapit AI and Reapit Home, a digital experience linking buyers, sellers, landlords and tenants with their agency. The company says more than 18,000 estate agency brands and over 91,000 agents use it worldwide, managing over 1.4 million properties. That means the software sits behind a large number of property searches, viewings and tenancies.

Reapit was founded in 1997 by George Stead, a London estate agency director who saw the need for better software. The company's pages we read give no standalone mission or values statement; they point to a brand manifesto we could not read. The themes the company stresses are flexibility, expandability and practical support for agents, and it promises help from people who understand an agency's business even after the software is in place.

Reapit has four UK offices. Its head office has been in Farringdon, London, since 2016. It opened a second office in Solihull in 2005, a third in Leeds in 2007 and a fourth in Edinburgh in 2009, so it has a presence in London, the Midlands, the north of England and Scotland. It also has a presence in Australia and New Zealand, shown by a separate regional site, and customers around the world. The company has had a US private equity backer, Accel-KKR, since 2017.

The company's own pages emphasise customer support, partnership and continuous improvement, which suggests a culture that values looking after customers over the long term. It also has its own careers site. We did not find staff numbers, so we cannot say how large the UK teams are, and we have no independent view on what working there is like.

A software company serving estate agents needs software engineers, product managers and designers, support and training teams who help agencies move onto the system, sales and account staff, data and security specialists, and the usual finance and people teams. People who understand how estate agencies work are particularly useful. If you like the idea of building tools for a business that most families come into contact with at least once, this is a good example of a UK property company where technology skills matter.
