A London-headquartered cyber security company that protects organisations from email and brand attacks. Founded in 2015 by Rahul Powar and Randal Pinto.
Red Sift is a cyber security company that helps organisations stop attacks that start with email and fake websites. Criminals often send emails that pretend to come from a trusted brand, such as a bank, to trick people. Red Sift's tools check an organisation's email and web set-up, find weak spots and help fix them, using data analysis and machine learning (software that learns patterns from large amounts of data).
The company was founded in 2015 by Rahul Powar and Randal Pinto. Powar is co-founder and chief executive; before Red Sift he founded the company Apsmart, bought by Thomson Reuters in 2012, and was on Shazam's founding team, according to Red Sift. Pinto is co-founder and previously led the professional services side of Apsmart. Its chief scientist is Ivan Ristic, known for SSL Labs, Hardenize and the book Bulletproof TLS and PKI. Its headquarters is in London, with other locations in Austin and Barcelona, and it says it has team members in 18 countries and roughly 51 to 200 employees on a profile page, so treat that as approximate.
Red Sift's stated aim is to create "a fundamentally safer internet" through proactive security across email, web and PKI (the system of digital certificates that proves a website is genuine). Its page lists four principles: embrace standards such as DMARC and TLS and implement them properly; protect the gaps attackers can still exploit; prevent drift so working protections stay effective; and use AI to scale manual security work and reduce workload for security teams.
Its products include OnDMARC, which stops criminals sending fake emails in a company's name (DMARC is a standard that checks an email really came from the sender it claims); Brand Trust, which stops lookalike sites and brand abuse; Certificates, which finds and monitors digital certificates; ASM, which maps an organisation's internet-facing assets; and Radar, an AI tool that finds and fixes security issues. It also gives away free tools, such as an SPF Checker, BIMI Checker and Certificates Lite. It was named on Deloitte's EMEA Fast 500 list and the London Tech 50.
Red Sift describes a people-first culture that values inclusion, career growth and continuous learning, with teams in Product and Customer Success, Engineering and Innovation, and Sales and Marketing. These are its own claims. Its engineering page calls the team collaborative and focused on solving problems, and lists openings as Red Sift UK or fully remote. We found no graduate scheme or apprenticeship, so check its careers page for current openings.
