Rezatec

An Oxfordshire-based geospatial analytics company that combines satellite data and AI to help water companies, farmers and land managers monitor assets and landscapes.

About Rezatec

Rezatec uses data from satellites, aircraft and sensors on the ground, together with its own computer models, to give early warning about things that happen to land and the structures buried in it. Its water-industry products help water companies monitor pipes, sewers, dams and reservoirs, and it says it has worked with about a third of UK water companies, including Scottish Water, South West Water, Portsmouth Water and Bristol Water. It has also worked on peatland restoration, mapping the risk of pollution from farming, forestry and crop yield. It describes this as 'Landscape Intelligence' and 'big data geoanalytics'.

Rezatec was founded in 2012 and is led, as at the sources we read, by chief executive Patrick Newton. We found no formal mission statement. Its published materials focus on helping leaders decide where to invest, use resources well and raise the value of their assets. In 2024 the water industry was described as its main focus, with most customers in the United States, and a trial with the Australian utility Unitywater on the Sunshine Coast was its first project in Australia. In December 2024 its majority owner, Shard Credit Partners, sold the company to a buyer whose name was not published, so check how it is organised now.

In the UK Rezatec has been part of the Harwell Space Cluster in Oxfordshire for more than five years, and moved into a new headquarters, Quad One, on the Harwell Science and Innovation Campus, taking about 4,500 square feet. Charlotte Dewey, its finance director, said the move would put it close to more than 80 other space-related organisations. A directory entry also lists an address in Milton, near Abingdon, and the company's Oxford location is mentioned in a 2024 announcement. A directory puts it at 11 to 50 employees.

On people and culture, the Harwell Campus partner William Cooper called Rezatec 'an important asset' within the space cluster. The company's chief executive said it was in 'fast growth mode' as it expanded internationally, and its business unit director, Philip Briscoe, spoke about the Australian trial. These are public statements by the company and its landlord, and we found no staff reviews. Working at Harwell means a campus where space, science and technology firms sit alongside each other, which gives many chances to meet people from the wider sector.

The jobs in a company like this include data scientists who build the models, software engineers, remote sensing and environmental specialists, customer-facing staff who work with water companies and farmers, and finance and administration staff. If you like geography, maths, computing, engineering or the environment, it shows a way to combine them with space data. Check rezatec.com, and any news on its new owner, for the current picture.
