Renewable and flexible power generator (UK arm) · Energy & CleanTech

RWE UK

The UK arm of German energy company RWE, headquartered in Swindon, running apprenticeships, graduate schemes and industrial placements.

About RWE UK

RWE is a major renewable energy generator. In the UK it runs wind farms and power stations, and its early careers roles include offshore wind technicians, generation technicians, engineers, IT and project management apprentices and software developers.

RWE UK presents its apprenticeship programme as a way to build the skilled workforce it needs for its Net Zero by 2040 goal and to help address the UK's renewable energy skills gap, according to a February 2025 release.

The release names Swindon as the UK headquarters (IT and project management apprentices), Little Barford gas power station near St Neots (engineering apprentices), Staythorpe Power Station (maintenance roles) and Coleg Llandrillo in Wales, a national offshore apprenticeship hub launched in 2012 that has trained over 100 offshore wind technicians. Placements are also listed in London.

RWE says apprentices receive a salary, mentoring and a benefits package, and can gain additional qualifications. We did not find independent culture information.

The February 2025 release announced 32 new apprenticeship positions and said 75 apprentices were on programmes, with apprenticeships lasting two to four years mixing on-site training and classroom learning. Selection includes assessment centres, team exercises and interviews. Search results also show a Level 4 Business Analyst apprenticeship in Swindon (2026, listing offline), industrial placements in London and Swindon, and 2027 graduate programmes in areas such as IT. We found no pay amounts or entry requirements.
