The UK arm of a global claims management company, providing loss adjusting, claims handling and specialist claims services across eight UK offices.
Sedgwick UK helps people and organisations when something goes wrong and they make an insurance claim. It describes its work as "supporting people and organizations through life's unexpected events". Services include loss adjusting for commercial and household losses, from small claims of about £1,000 to major high-value cases, and third-party administration (TPA), where it handles claims on behalf of insurers or large organisations from start to finish.
It also has specialist teams in areas such as aviation, cyber, construction and engineering, environmental and forensic accounting, a product recall response service, and Sedgwick Legal Services, a UK law firm. Omni is its digital claims platform, using data, AI and machine learning. Sedgwick UK says it processes more than 400,000 new claims a year, working for insurers, brokers, corporates, public sector bodies and homeowners across property, motor, marine, energy and financial lines.
Sedgwick UK says it has eight offices across the country and more than 2,500 colleagues, within a global network spanning more than 80 countries. The UK business took its current shape after Sedgwick bought the loss adjuster Cunningham Lindsey in 2018. At that time Stewart Steel (previously of Vericlaim) became UK chief executive and Paul White, who had been Cunningham Lindsey's chief operating officer for nine years, became UK chief operating officer. Both were reported in 2018 and may have changed since.
Sedgwick's UK page gives no formal values list, but describes adjusters who take a steady, personal approach and a TPA model built on partnership with clients. Its US pages describe a very large network of loss adjusters with 25 or more years of average experience, which shows how much knowledge there is to learn from. We did not find a UK-specific culture page, so ask about team life when you speak to colleagues.
Claims work needs people who like solving problems and helping others on a bad day. Roles include loss adjusters, claims handlers, technical specialists, forensic accountants, lawyers, data and technology staff, and customer service and operations teams. Eight offices means the work is not only in London. Sedgwick also says its adjusters range from small household claims to major high-value cases, so there is a path from simple work to complex projects as you gain experience.
