A UK video collaboration platform that helps organisations collect and edit footage filmed by their own people on phones.
Seenit is a cloud-based video collaboration platform. An organisation sets filming tasks in an app, people such as staff, fans or experts upload footage from their phones, and the team edits it into finished videos in an online studio before sharing it on social media, websites and email. Its platform page describes turning employee voices into content for hiring, communication and culture.
A 2015 profile said the earlier stated purpose was to help organisations engage their most passionate supporters and empower them to become content creators. The idea came from producer Emily Forbes, who noticed protesters recording everything on their phones while she was making a documentary about rhino poaching in South Africa. She saw that organisations could use that real, personal footage. Seenit was founded in January 2014 by Forbes and Max Werner and launched in April 2014.
That early profile said Seenit was based near Liverpool Street in London, with sales desks in Victoria. A newer job-site profile gives its headquarters as WeWork, 14 Hewett Street, London EC2A 3NP and says 21 to 100 people work there, with 41 percent female staff. That profile quotes its mission as "to create a more trustworthy world where authentic human stories can be told in impactful ways" and lists benefits such as a training budget, 26 days of holiday and monthly team socials, which are the company's own claims. The profile is undated, so check that the address is current. Its current website footer links it to the Unseen Group and shows 2025 and 2026 copyright notices, and its platform overview was last updated on 3 May 2023, so the company is still active. The same profile named the BBC, STA Travel, Bacardi and Manchester City Football Club among early clients.
In 2015 the team was small, about six people, and said everyone shared tasks and that creativity was encouraged in every role. Today the platform includes user management, a custom camera, project tools, an editing suite and secure hosting on Google Cloud and Amazon Web Services. It also offers creative services, so people behind the scenes include video producers and editors, support staff, software engineers and customer success teams.
Seenit is a good example for anyone who likes film or social media and is curious about the software that sits behind it. We did not find a current team page or UK address, so check seenit.io before relying on the location details above.
