The UK arm of Sinch, a Swedish cloud communications company, which grew from the UK messaging business mBlox and has offices in Belfast and a registered base in Kent.

About Sinch UK

Sinch runs a cloud platform that lets businesses reach people on their phones. Companies use it to send text messages, make voice and video calls, send email and run chatbot conversations, usually through software links called APIs that connect a company's own systems to the phone networks. When a bank texts you a security code or a delivery firm sends an update, a platform like Sinch's may be doing the sending. The company says it handles close to one trillion customer interactions a year. This kind of business is called CPaaS, short for communications platform as a service.

Sinch says it began in 2008 in a small rented room inside a travel agency, with an aim "to make it easier for businesses to connect with people". Its stated mission today is "to simplify communication between businesses and the people they serve". It grew by joining with other companies, and in 2016 it acquired Mblox, which its history page calls one of the largest messaging providers in the world. Sinch became its main brand in 2019. Its global headquarters is in Stockholm, Sweden, and its history page does not list company values.

The UK link is the old Mblox business. Companies House shows Sinch UK Ltd, company number 03049312, set up in 1995 and active today. The same record shows it was called MBLOX Limited from 2000 to 2017 and CLX Communications Limited from 2017 to 2019, which tells the story of the company's changes of name. Its registered office is Viking House, in Blean, near Canterbury in Kent. A job-site profile for Sinch lists a Belfast office in Northern Ireland and about 1,520 employees worldwide. We could not confirm a London office or the size of the UK team.

We did not find a Sinch UK culture page or staff stories. The company describes itself as having a local presence in more than 30 countries, so UK staff are likely to work with colleagues in many places. The history page shows a business that has grown by buying others, so people may arrive from many different company backgrounds. This is our reading of the public record, not a claim by the company.

People at a communications platform firm work in software engineering, where they build and run systems that handle huge volumes of messages, and in network and operator relations, where they deal with the phone companies that deliver the messages. There are also fraud and security specialists who spot misuse, customer support engineers, account managers, product teams, and legal and finance staff. Maths, computing and networking are natural subjects, but sales and customer roles also suit people who like talking to businesses.
