SNG, a housing association formed in 2023 by the merger of Sovereign and Network Homes, with about 86,000 homes in London, the South and the East of England.
Sovereign Network Group, or SNG, is a housing association that provides affordable homes. Its site says it has 86,000 homes across London, the South East, the South West and the East of England. Its services include rented homes, shared ownership, housing for older people, supported housing, key worker accommodation, new build homes, garage rental and partnerships on homelessness prevention. Local teams manage homes and places, with central teams and specialist staff supporting them. It says it aims to deliver 25,000 new homes over the next ten years while investing in its existing homes.
SNG's purpose, in its own words, is to "provide good, affordable homes that are the foundation for a better life", and its vision is "thriving communities, over generations". The pages we read did not set out values or culture, though they link to pages on both. The organisation says it is committed to locally based teams supported by central services.
SNG formed on 1 October 2023 when Sovereign Housing Association and Network Homes merged. Its roots go back to the 1970s, in Brent in London and Newbury in Berkshire. Network Homes became Sovereign Network Homes at first. On 31 March 2025 the group combined into one legal entity, Sovereign Network Group, and became one organisation from 1 April 2025, with its customer websites merged. Its registered office is in Basingstoke, Hampshire, and its headquarters is in Wembley, London, with regional offices across the areas it serves. Customers from the former Sovereign are grouped as South and West, and those from Network Homes as London and East.
We did not find first-hand figures for staff numbers or descriptions of what it is like to work there. The group says it is bringing together teams, systems and ways of working after the merger, which suggests a period of change. Because it is large and spread across the south of England, its jobs are located in many towns as well as London.
The kinds of work include housing and neighbourhood officers, repairs and maintenance teams, customer service, supported housing and older people's services, new-build development and planning, sales and shared ownership, community investment, and the finance, legal and technology teams that support them. Housing associations like SNG employ large numbers of people in local jobs across towns and cities, so this sector can offer a career close to home. Its website is the place to read about its purpose, vision and values and how teams are arranged.
