Superdrug

A UK health and beauty retailer with over 800 stores, many with pharmacies, known for its large apprenticeship programme.

About Superdrug

Superdrug sells health and beauty products on the UK high street. Around 200 of its stores have pharmacies with consultation rooms, and 15 have nurse clinics offering health checks.

Its stated purpose on a careers profile is to be "the best in everyday accessible beauty and health". It also stresses customer service, quality and training through its retail academy, and says its own-brand beauty and toiletries are cruelty-free certified.

Superdrug operates in the UK and Republic of Ireland, with over 800 stores in total and about 12,500 colleagues, according to that profile (undated). It is part of the A.S. Watson Group. We did not find a head office location on the pages we read.

In 2026 its people director said the apprenticeship programmes give flexibility and support so people can build confidence and progress "in a way that suits how they learn". One apprentice quoted started on the programme and is now a team leader. These are the company's own descriptions.

Apprenticeships run in stores and other parts of the business, with Level 2, 3 and 4 retail programmes (as at 2024). The scheme began in 2007 and has supported over 5,000 apprentices, with more than 600 due to finish in 2026. Apply through superdrug.jobs/apprenticeships.
