Takeda is a research-based pharmaceutical company. Its UK business works on medicines in areas such as oncology, gastro-intestinal, neuroscience and rare diseases, and recruits for regulatory affairs, marketing and external affairs.
Takeda says it aims to "champion better health and a brighter future for patients" and describes itself as values-led. Its Europe and Canada unit states: "We put patients, trust and reputation before business", and it emphasises integrity.
Its UK head offices are in Paddington, central London. A 2026 placement listing says staff must be in the office at least 8 days a month, with some remote working.
We did not find independent culture information, so treat the values above as company claims and ask placement students how they work in practice.
The main route found is the 12-month industrial placement taken during a sandwich year, for undergraduates who go back to their course afterwards. A July 2026 marketing placement had four places, preferred STEM or marketing degrees, and asked for a CV and cover letter in one document. Selection may include an aptitude test, video interview and assessment centre. Listings also cover regulatory affairs and external affairs placements. The role is paid but the amount was not stated. We did not find a graduate scheme or apprenticeship.
