Tessl

A London AI developer-tools company, founded by Guy Podjarny, building a platform for AI-native software development. It argues software should be built around intent rather than code.

About Tessl

Tessl is a London-based company working on how software will be built in an age of AI. It describes itself as an "Agent Enablement Platform", with products including the Tessl Platform, Tessl Agent and Tessl Registry. The idea is to help AI coding agents work reliably by giving them the right guidance and context.

Its stated aim is to shape AI-native software development, where, it argues, development centres on intent and taste rather than on writing code line by line. It also supports the developer community through events and the AI Native Dev podcast.

Tessl was founded by Guy Podjarny, its chief executive, who previously founded the security company Snyk and the web performance company Blaze, which Akamai acquired. The company is registered as Tessl AI Ltd, with an address on Pentonville Road in London. Its leadership includes heads of product, engineering, operations and developer relations.

Tessl is a small company at the frontier of how software is made. If you are interested in coding, it is also a way to see how the job of a developer is changing: tools like these suggest that skills such as clearly describing what you want, testing and judging quality matter alongside writing code.

Our sources do not give a founding date, headcount or early-careers programmes. We have left out funding. Students interested in software and AI should check Tessl's site for events, content and current roles.
