A games testing and quality assurance company founded in 1998, with its UK sites in London and Croydon.
Testronic provides testing and quality assurance for the games industry. Its services include quality assurance, localisation testing, player support, compliance and certification, working on consoles, PC, mobile and online games. In plain terms, its testers find the problems in a game before players do.
We did not find a mission statement. The closest wording is a focus on quality, "Quality Matters to us", and a stated aim to protect clients and safeguard the consumer experience. In 2012 it described itself as the recognised global leader in quality assurance services for games, film, television, websites, hardware and software.
Testronic was founded in 1998. A recent profile lists offices in Croydon and London, England, including a George Street address in Croydon. A 2013 trade profile gave a London site on Borough High Street, and a 2012 announcement listed Burbank in California, London, Diepenbeek in Belgium, Warsaw and Tokyo. Its former film and TV arm is now called Giant Worldwide.
Named people in earlier announcements include Becky Walker, a games business development director with over 26 years in the industry, Alastair Harsant, who was VP of games operations and UK site manager, and Martin Rasmussen, who looked after sales for Northern Europe from the central London facility. A job-board profile lists about 1,191 employees, though the 2013 trade profile gave more than 400, so the company has grown or the sources differ.
Roles here include testers, localisation checkers, compliance specialists, project and site managers, and sales staff. Culture is not described in the sources we found. Testronic posts open roles on its own careers page. In 2012 Testronic said its games work covered localisation QA, functionality, compatibility and compliance testing across consoles, PC, social, MMO and mobile platforms, and in 2013 added that it could start user-experience testing early in development to help refine a game concept. The 2013 profile also said the previous year had been a record-breaking one. These are older statements, so use them as background rather than current facts. The 2012 announcement also introduced Becky Walker, who joined as director of business development for games and had previously been VP of European sales at e4e Interactive, and Martin Rasmussen, who handled sales for Northern Europe from the central London facility.
