A Witham, Essex-based survey and inspection company with an Aberdeen office that uses drones, laser scanning and traditional survey methods.
Texo Drone Survey and Inspection, often shortened to Texo DSI, is a survey and inspection company that offers land-based, marine and aerial work. It runs a fleet of multi-rotor and fixed-wing drones for sites that are hard to reach, dangerous or very large, and combines drone data with traditional survey methods. For the building and construction industry it lists surveys before and after demolition, including inspections of hazardous buildings, 3D site surveys, structural surveys, topographic surveys, roof inspections, building information models, thermal imaging to find heat loss and water getting into roofs, and full aerial maps of sites. Its energy work uses survey-grade LiDAR, which is laser scanning that builds a detailed 3D picture of a site.
The company's pages do not name its founders or give a founding year, and we found no formal mission statement. What it says in its own words is practical: drone inspections can be done while an asset is live, which saves clients the cost of shutting it down, and drones are a safer alternative to inspectors working on ropes. That reflects a mission of making inspection safer and cheaper, but this is our reading of its statements, not a quotation from a mission page.
The company's building and construction page gives its address as Stepfield Industrial Estate, Witham, in Essex. A 2017 article announces the opening of an Aberdeen office, in Provender House on Waterloo Quay beside the harbour, as part of a long-term plan, for a specialist operational division called Texo DSI (UKCS) Ltd serving oil and gas, renewables and industrial clients. A Scottish company record exists for Texo DSI (UKCS), and a national drone directory lists a Texo Group. Because the Aberdeen article is from 2017, check the company's current locations.
Pages describe employees with specific qualifications: pilots with Civil Aviation Authority certificates, processing and analytical staff, and inspectors accredited in non-destructive testing, which means checking materials without damaging them. The 2017 article quotes Shelley Regan, commercial development manager, and a separate news item records the appointment of a new commercial development manager. We did not find material about culture.
A company like this offers roles for drone pilots, surveyors, data processors who turn images and laser scans into models and maps, inspectors, engineers and commercial staff. Surveying, geography, engineering and construction are natural routes in, and the mix of fieldwork and office work suits people who like being outdoors as well as using software. Its website is the place to check for opportunities.
