The London Clinic

One of the few independent UK hospitals run as a charity, based in Marylebone, London, with apprenticeships across clinical and professional roles.

About The London Clinic

The London Clinic is a private hospital in central London offering a wide range of specialist care, with nurses, clinical teams and specialists working alongside consultants.

It says it is one of the UK's only independent hospitals that operates as a charity, with surplus reinvested in healthcare, research and staff training. Its values are "We go further", "We personalise care" and "We work as one".

It is at 20 Devonshire Place, London W1G 6BW. It is rated Good by the Care Quality Commission (inspected December 2021, so check for a newer rating). We did not find a staff headcount, and the site gives two different founding dates (1932 and 1935).

The Clinic says it was in the Financial Times UK Best Employers top 10 for 2026 and won a nursing team award in 2024. Benefits listed include private medical cover after probation, a pension, a subsidised staff restaurant and cycle to work. These are its own claims.

The careers page says apprenticeships are offered across professional and clinical disciplines to grow talent from within, and that it supports doctors, nurses and specialists through placements and study funding. We found no details of grad schemes, entry grades or deadlines. Recruitment typically takes four to six weeks, so apply early.
