Two Circles

A London-headquartered, data-driven sports marketing agency founded in 2011 that works with leagues, federations and sports organisations.

About Two Circles

Two Circles is a sports marketing company that uses fan data to help sports organisations grow. Its page on the Charterhouse website says it works with more than 400 sports properties and manages and analyses fan data to show them how fans behave, so that sports bodies can make better decisions and improve their commercial results. Its services include rights management, ticketing, event hosting, streaming, e-commerce, sponsorship sales, content creation and strategy consulting. It names long-term partners including the NFL, the IOC, LA28, Formula 1, the Premier League, UEFA and FIFA. The company says that since it started, 92% of clients that moved into a retained relationship have stayed with it.

Two Circles was founded in 2011 by Matt Rogan and Gareth Balch. Matt Rogan has said the name reflects the idea that sports organisations and their fans sit as "two very separate circles" that the agency aims to bring closer together. In a 2023 Loughborough University podcast he explained why they started: "We couldn't see that anyone in the sports agency market had the background or the drive to change the status quo." He is also the author of a book called All to Play For. We did not find a formal mission statement beyond that founding story, and we have not invented one.

The company says it is headquartered in London, and lists a London telephone number (020 7334 5300) on the Charterhouse page. Built In London lists current vacancies for Two Circles in London, which gives a sense of the roles based there: media partnerships, sponsorship sales, partnership development, account direction, lead consultants and sales executives. We found no street address and no other UK offices in the pages we read, so we cannot say whether the company has any base outside London. The same listings suggest an office-based London team, but that is our reading of job titles and not a statement from the company.

The Loughborough page gave little about daily culture and we found no first-party values page. What we can say is that the founders present the company as a challenger to the established sports agencies, and that its work is analysis-led: fan data, ticketing and sponsorship all depend on understanding what supporters actually do. The company's own claims, including the 92% retention figure, are not something we have checked.

A sports marketing agency employs analysts who work with fan data, consultants who advise rights holders, partnership and sponsorship sales specialists, account managers who look after client relationships, content and social teams, ticketing and e-commerce specialists, and finance and people staff. Maths, business, marketing, sport management and data subjects are natural starting points. The company's own website lists current openings.
