A prime-property estate agency with a head office in Mayfair and offices in central London and Surrey, part of the global Sotheby's International Realty network.
UK Sotheby's International Realty sells and lets high-value homes in London and the surrounding area. Its website lists residential sales (local and international), lettings, property management, new development sales, investment and portfolio management, all focused on prime and super-prime property. It describes itself as the premier choice for buying, selling or letting a home in the UK. It belongs to a global network of some 1,100 offices in 86 countries and territories, and the company says the Sotheby's International Realty trademark is licensed to its American owner, with each office independently owned and operated.
The company has operated in the Knightsbridge area since 1976, according to a 2023 trade report, before it took on the Sotheby's International Realty brand. A 2010 report says Countrywide acquired the UK franchise for the brand that year. We did not find an official history on the pages we read, and the company's own site did not give a founding date. The leaders named are George Azar, chairman and chief executive, and Alex Isidro, managing director. We did not find a formal mission statement.
The head office is at 48 Conduit Street in Mayfair. Its website lists other London offices in St John's Wood, Knightsbridge, Marylebone, Kensington and Wimbledon, and a country office in Cobham, Surrey. The 2023 report said the Knightsbridge office at Cadogan Place was its third new office in London. Earlier press coverage also covered an office in Stanton, Broadway, Gloucestershire, though we did not confirm whether it is still open. We have therefore based the UK presence on its own current site.
The firm says it takes a client-focused approach with individual and discreet advice, market insight, bespoke marketing and technology. It says its team averages 18 years of experience. A 2023 report said it had been recruiting "some of the industry's biggest names" to its London offices. These descriptions come from the company and a trade report, not from independent staff reviews, and the company site says very little about its working culture. Clients can contact it through its website, by phone or by WhatsApp, which gives a flavour of how it deals with an international clientele.
Roles in a company like this include negotiators and valuers who work with buyers and sellers, lettings and property management staff, new homes sales specialists, and marketing, design and client services teams who prepare high-end brochures and campaigns. Many of the clients are international, so languages and cultural knowledge can be useful. If you like luxury goods, architecture, interiors, or people, prime residential property could appeal. Check the company's website for what is open at the time you look.
