inventory and shipping software (owned by Amazon) · Logistics, Shipping & Supply Chains

Veeqo

A Swansea-based software company, now part of Amazon, whose free shipping and inventory tools help online sellers manage stock, orders and parcels.

About Veeqo

Veeqo makes software for online sellers. It helps them keep track of stock in one place, work out where to send products, buy shipping labels and ship orders on time. Veeqo's website says it offers free shipping and inventory software with discounted carrier rates, and connects a seller's stores in a few clicks using an Amazon sign-in. In 2017, before it joined Amazon, it described its product as covering inventory, order and warehouse management and reporting, linking to shopping carts such as Shopify, Magento and WooCommerce, and to Amazon and eBay.

Veeqo was founded by Matt Warren, a UK online retailer who started by selling luxury watches online. He created the software because he could not find a tool that kept orders and stock in step across several sales channels, couriers and accounting programs. Amazon bought Veeqo in 2021 and it now calls itself 'Veeqo, an Amazon company'. Its stated line is 'We provide the easiest way for Ecommerce Sellers to own their future.' The site points to 'customer obsession' as a value.

Veeqo was founded in Wales and has a team in Swansea. Amazon's UK site says the Swansea team moved into premises at Amazon's first development centre in Wales, which opened in 2022. It also says headcount doubled from 70 to 140 after the acquisition, with team members around the world from London to Seattle. Veeqo's website lists a Seattle address and says teams across North America and Europe cover different time zones. In 2017 a profile put the team at about 40 people, based in the UK and working remotely.

On culture, an employee quoted by Amazon describes a start-up feel combined with the learning resources of a large company, and another describes Veeqo as a friendly, local employer that helps staff build careers. A Product Marketing Manager, Aisling Miller, said she wanted to add to Wales's growing tech talent. In 2017 the company described itself as 'a team of passionate and dedicated ecommerce experts'. These are the company's and Amazon's own statements.

Roles named in the Amazon article include software development engineers, technical product managers, knowledge engineers, UX designers and business analysts. A company like this also needs customer support and success staff who help sellers, and marketing and sales people. If you like computing and want to build tools that help small businesses sell around the world, Veeqo is a clear example of a Welsh company doing it. Amazon's job site lists current roles.
