Wireless Logic

A UK-founded Internet of Things connectivity company, with a Berkshire base, that helps businesses connect and manage millions of devices over mobile and satellite networks.

About Wireless Logic

Wireless Logic is a company that keeps machines talking. When a smart electricity meter, a hospital monitor, an electric car charger or a sensor on a farm needs to send information, it often does so over the mobile network using a SIM card, just like your phone. Wireless Logic provides that connectivity and a platform for managing it, so a business with thousands or millions of devices can see them all in one place. The company describes itself as an Internet of Things (IoT) connectivity provider, and its own pages say it works with more than 50 mobile and satellite operators and serves more than 25,000 organisations.

The company was founded in the UK in 2000 by Oliver Tucker and Phil Cole. Mr Tucker is the chief executive and, in a 2024 interview, described a customer-centred approach built on steady innovation. Over time the group has grown by joining up with other connectivity businesses, including the UK firms Jola and Mobius Networks in 2022, and it has partnered with Starlink so that satellite links can be offered alongside mobile ones. We could not find a formal mission statement. The closest wording on its own pages is a "security-first mindset", a move from "connect first, secure later" to "secure from day one".

A July 2022 report on its UK purchases described its headquarters as being in Berkshire, and its owner's website lists offices in the UK, Germany, France, Spain, Denmark, the United States and Asia-Pacific. The group's UK businesses include Jola in Nottinghamshire and, at the time of that deal, Mobius Networks in Leicestershire. Those figures date from 2022 to 2025, so check the current locations before you plan a visit or an application.

What is it like to work in a business like this? The company says its customers use its connectivity for smart metering, remote clinic monitoring, electric vehicle charging and air-quality projects in cities, so the work touches everyday life even if you never see it. Its public pages say little about its own staff or workplace culture, so we are not going to guess. A firm of this kind needs network and software engineers, people who look after customers and technical support, sales and account managers, and teams that handle billing, data and security.

If you are curious about how phones and devices stay connected, this is a good example of a UK company in that world. School subjects that help include maths, physics, computing and design and technology, and a clear, friendly way of explaining technical ideas to customers is useful in almost every role. Look at the company's own website for the latest roles, and ask what the day-to-day work is like when you speak to someone there.
