One of the world's biggest payment processors, helping shops and businesses take card payments. Its international headquarters is in London and it runs graduate pathways and a paid internship.
Worldpay helps businesses take payments. Shops, restaurants and online retailers use it to accept cards and digital wallets such as Apple Pay, and to move the money safely to the business's bank. It is one of the largest non-bank providers of this service in the world.
Its history is a long chain of mergers. The US part of the business started in 1971 as a payment-processing company within Fifth Third Bank and was later called Vantiv. In 2018 Vantiv bought the British firm Worldpay Group and took the Worldpay name. In 2019 the financial technology company FIS bought it, and in 2024 the investment firm GTCR took a majority stake. On 12 January 2026 Global Payments announced it had completed its acquisition of Worldpay. The business is headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, and its international headquarters is at The Walbrook Building in London.
Its products include merchant services for taking payments, card and ATM processing, fraud prevention, prepaid and gift cards, and Tap to Pay on iPhone, which lets a phone accept contactless payments.

For young people, Worldpay's early-careers page describes two graduate pathways, a technical one in technology and a business one in corporate marketing, plus a paid 10-week summer internship. London is the UK location named on the page. A UK investigations apprentice role in Manchester has also been advertised. Check jobs.worldpay.com for current openings.
