A London-headquartered embedded insurance platform that helps car makers launch and run their own branded vehicle insurance.
Wrisk is a London-headquartered insurance technology company. It runs a platform that lets car brands offer insurance themselves, from the first quote through renewal and claims. Instead of selling cover under its own name to the public, it works with manufacturers and insurers, so the cover feels like part of owning the car. It describes itself as the only independent embedded insurance technology platform dedicated to the car maker sector.
Its founder, quoted in an early profile, said he wanted to redesign a customer insurance experience he saw as outdated. Early plans included combining several policies into one plan, removing repeated questionnaires and letting customers change their cover at any time. More recent coverage describes its aim as becoming the embedded insurance partner of choice for the global automotive industry.
A 2024 company update says Wrisk is headquartered in London and built its product to meet UK regulatory requirements. It made 30 hires across departments in the first half of that year, UK headcount grew by more than 40%, and it planned a new UK office. It also opened offices in Vienna and Munich at the end of 2023. Partners named include Allianz as an insurer and car makers BMW, MINI, Volvo and Jaguar Land Rover. Its chief executive is Nimeshh Patel, and an early profile names Niall Barton as founder. Sources differ on whether it was founded in 2015 or 2016.
A company interview says Wrisk emphasises a caring culture, a growth mindset and accountability, with a focus on finding root causes rather than blame. Those are the company's own words. New leaders hired in 2024 included directors for insurance partnerships, pricing and actuarial services, and technical operations, which shows the kinds of specialist roles it needs. Its platform combines connected-car, telematics and customer data, so engineering, data science and product design are central.
If you are curious about how cars and insurance are changing, this is a good company to follow. A platform company needs people who understand customers, code and regulation together. We did not find a London street address or a current total headcount. Its 2024 update also reports more than 73,000 monthly premiums written, which gives a sense of the number of drivers its systems serve.
