A London-based payments company known for letting customers pay now or split payments into interest-free instalments, and for funding rewards from advertising. Regulated by the FCA since 2020.
Zilch is a British payments company that lets shoppers pay straight away with a virtual card, or spread the cost into interest-free instalments. It is a "buy now, pay later" company, and it is unusual because it funds cashback and rewards partly from advertising money paid by retailers.
Zilch was founded in 2018 by Philip Belamant, Serge Belamant and Sean O'Connor. It is headquartered in London and has an office in Miami and a technology hub in Krakow, Poland. It has been regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority since April 2020 and received its consumer credit licence through the FCA's Regulatory Sandbox.
Its products include Pay Now, which gives cashback and rewards, interest-free instalments over six weeks or three months, and Zilch Up, a credit-building product. In June 2025 it launched a physical card with Visa and in October 2025 an AI-based data platform for retailers.
We did not find a formal mission statement in the sources we read.
For young people, Zilch is a small, fast-growing company, so a good example of how a London fintech can grow quickly. Its careers page lists current roles. We did not find a published graduate or internship scheme, so we are not claiming one.
